Laboratoire de Génétique et Biologie Cellulaire - LGBC

Laboratory of Genetics and Biology of the Cell (LGBC)

The laboratory

The "Laboratoire de Génétique et Biologie Cellulaire" (LGBC - UR 4589) is a laboratory of the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ) / Université Paris-Saclay in partnership with the École Pratique des Hautes Etudes (EPHE) / PSL Research University

The LGBC is affiliated to the Doctoral School "Structure and Dynamics of Living Systems".

We are members of the GRET EPHE Les Cellules et leur Envirronement : dynamique des Interactions, of the Société Française de Biologie Cellulaire, of the Meetochondnrie network and of the Réseau Francophone de la Mort Cellulaire network. We also develop tight collaborations with the teams of the UMR 1173 INSERM/UVSQ.

The main research themes

Our main research interests concern on the one hand cell death regulation and modalities, in particular at the mitochondrial level, and, on the other hand, the compensatory mechanisms involved in the maintenance of tissue homeostasis following stress involving the mitochondria or endoplasmic reticulum. For this purpose we use mammalian cellular models and Drosophila.
In parallel, we carry out collaborative projects in areas such as cell death pathways, and we develop Drosophila models of pathologies.
